Mt. Biking: Two Rivers - Deben to Orwell Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunny start, then cloudy Max Speed: 18.71 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 13.25 mile (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Wednesday 21st September – bike **** – Sunrise two Rivers including a
cuppa at the Ferry – sunny start then cloudy.
We woke at six this morning, with the winds very light and some interesting
clouds in the sky we decide to head down to the seafront for the second
time this week to catch the sunrise but this time on our bikes with a hot
flask:)
We again have trouble with my bike battery so have to do all the peddling
once again which is not a problem as it is pretty flat, we reach the prom
at 6.30 just in time to see an amazing sunrise, such stunning colours from
gold to vibrant red:) We then continue along to the Fludgers with it being
nice and quiet even if a tad on the chilly side but a few swimmers were
braving a dip with the sea like a mill pool! Inland for a short section
before returning to the seafront through the beach huts on the cliff with
the sun now shining in a line on the sea towards the beach, at the golf
course we stop to take some pics of a cormorant drying its wings against a
golden sky:) Then onto the Ferry where we sit on the sit near the jetty for
our warming cuppa with great views up the River Deben, still a little
misty, ideal for more pics, in fact I get one on BBC’s Look East for the
second time this week:) A quick trip around the boat yard before carrying
on along the still bumpy Deben path to Kings Fleet, up Marsh Lane to
Felixstowe and home. I want to try Mag’s battery on my bike so we swop
and I continue via Langer Park to the dock view point, then back through
Landguard Nature reserve and back along the prom for breakfast and to sort
my pics out.
Prom Walk.
It has clouded over but it was still warm enough to do my exercises in the
garden then we did something we haven’t done in years we went for a take
away! So, at 1.35 we walked down to the seafront and bought a battered
sausage and chips, eating them on the pier sheltered from the cool breeze
with nice views up the coast with some threatening black clouds! The meal
was yummy too, we really enjoyed it, sharing it with a friendly pigeon
while watching three swimmers and a local fisherman laying a net! A short
stroll along the prom, up Bent Hill, through the town centre and home, a
really lovely day:)
PS - just discovered I got a pic on ITV's About Anglia, so thats both
sides on the same day, that puts a smile on my face:)
